Betting Apps Kenya 18+

Editorial policy

This page describes how every page on Betting Apps Kenya is written, where its facts may come from, what it will never publish and how it is checked before it goes live. It is the policy that the byline on every guide points to, and it is written for readers, not for search engines.

The disclosure

Every page on Betting Apps Kenya is drafted with AI tools by the site's editorial team with the Act, the Regulations and the app stores' own policy pages open, then run through automated checks before it is published.

AI tools draft and restructure text. They do not decide what is true: every figure, date and section number must already exist in a primary source that is open while the page is written, and the page names that source.

Sources that count

  • The Gambling Control Act, 2025 (No. 14 of 2025), assented to on 7 August 2025 and in force since 26 August 2025, in the Government Printer edition hosted by the regulator.
  • The 2026 Regulations made under it, as gazetted on 30 June 2026: Legal Notice No. 111 (Licensing), No. 112 (Conduct of Gambling Operations), No. 113 (Foreign-Based Operators), No. 114 (Advertising) and No. 115 (Gambling Appeals Tribunal).
  • The Gambling Regulatory Authority's website, including its list of licensed gaming companies for the trading period 2025/26, quoted as published.
  • The Data Protection Act, 2019 and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner's own pages.
  • Google's Play Console policy pages, Android's developer documentation and Apple's App Review Guidelines, for what the stores and the operating systems require.
  • Safaricom's and Airtel's published tariffs and service pages, and the Central Bank of Kenya, for payments.
  • The Kenya Revenue Authority and the text of the tax Acts, for taxes, each figure with an 'as of' date.

News sites, forums, review sites, affiliate sites, social media and operator marketing are not sources here. If a figure cannot be found in a primary source, the rule is written without the figure.

What is never published

  • Rankings, ratings, scores or lists of the best operators or apps.
  • Bonus amounts, promo codes or offers of any kind.
  • Hyperlinks to operators, their apps or their download pages. Domains appear as plain text, exactly as the regulator publishes them.
  • Testimonials, success stories or quotes from players.
  • First-hand claims of testing an app or reporting what readers say. The team installs nothing and deposits nothing on your behalf, and does not pretend to.
  • Anything that presents gambling as income, as a solution to money problems or as a certain result.

How a page is prepared and checked

A page is drafted from a written brief with the relevant sources open. Section numbers are copied from the source, not recalled. Worked arithmetic is labelled 'Illustrative example'. Before publication a script checks the page for: sources with access dates; the 18+ notice; a link to the responsible gambling page; promotional wording; links to operators; duplicate text against the rest of this site and against sister sites; em dashes and placeholder text; title and description lengths; the order and presence of each block. A page is published only when the script reports zero defects. A page that fails is fixed or withheld, never published with a known fault.

There is no named human reviewer at present. That is a gap, and the site says so rather than inventing a name. When a reviewer is appointed, this section and the byline will name them.

Dates

Every guide shows the date it was last updated. The licence table shows the date the regulator's page was read and the date the regulator's site reports as its last modification. A date on this site is the date of this site's text, not a statement about when a rule took effect; where that matters, the text gives the commencement or gazette date itself.

Independence

No operator, affiliate network, payment provider or app store pays this site or supplies text to it. There is no income at present; the page on money sets out what would change first if that ever changed. Section 87(1) of the Gambling Control Act, 2025 and regulation 9 of the Gambling Control (Advertising) Regulations, 2026 are the legal reasons the site carries no advertising; independence is the editorial one.

Mistakes

Errors are corrected on the page, dated, and logged on the corrections page. A correction that changes the meaning of a guide is noted at the point where the change was made.

Readers under eighteen

This site is for adults. The Gambling Control (Conduct of Gambling Operations) Regulations, 2026 (regulation 92) keep persons under eighteen out of gambling and gambling promotion; nothing here is written for them, and the site publishes nothing designed to appeal to them.
